Someone who pushes 5 miles to work each day is in a lesser risk of being in an accident than someone who drives 25 miles to work every day; hence the individual driving 25 miles to work will have to pay a higher premium than the individual driving 5 miles to work. It works just the exact same for the person driving 50 miles to work which is going to need to pay more in insurance than the individual driving 25 miles.
